Terms of Service
- You own what you write. We ask only for the permissions needed to do the work.
- Engagements are projects, not subscriptions. There is no membership, no credit balance and no checkout.
- Producing a book is not permission to publish it. Release is a separate approval you give.
The summary is a reading aid. The numbered terms below are the operative wording.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or working with BookKraft Studio you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization, you accept them on its behalf. BookKraft Studio is the creative house behind every engagement; you remain the author and rights owner of your work unless a separate signed agreement says otherwise.
In plain languageUsing the service means these Terms apply. Being the house that does the work does not make us the author.
2. Your account
Studio access is invite-only and issued to a named person. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are for adults; the Studio is not offered to children.
In plain languageThere is no public signup. Your login is yours, and what happens under it is attributed to you.
3. The engagement
BookKraft Studio works on project-based engagements beginning at $5,000 with platform access included. Each engagement opens a governed ten-day workflow that produces a production milestone and an approved plan for the rest; continuation is scoped after discovery, as Guided, where the author is responsible for delivering the book, or Managed, where BookKraft Studio is. Scope, schedule and responsibilities for any work beyond the first milestone are agreed in writing before that work begins. Third-party expenses — printing, ISBNs, retailer or distributor fees, licensed images, freelance specialists engaged at your request — are disclosed separately and are not included in the engagement fee.
In plain languageYou buy a project, not a plan you have to keep paying for. Nothing continues past the first ten days until we have both agreed what continuing means.
4. Ownership, approval and rights
The author retains copyright and final approval. BookKraft Studio receives only the limited permissions needed to perform the engagement, and any publication or transfer of rights requires separate written authorization. Creative decisions rest with the author: BookKraft Studio proposes and evidences, and the author decides what enters the canon of the book. Publication approval is a separate gate — producing a manuscript, cover or production file is never permission to release it.
In plain languageYour copyright never moves. We cannot publish anything, anywhere, without a separate written authorization from you.
5. What is and is not promised
We commit to the governed work described in your engagement: the movements, the approval gates, the canon and version record, the evidence and rights review, and the production and format validation. No engagement guarantees publication, sales, reviews, awards, retailer placement or adaptation. Any statement about a market result is an opinion, not a term of this agreement.
In plain languageWe promise the work and the record of it. Nobody can promise readers, sales or a retailer's decision, so we do not.
6. AI-assisted output
Fable and the production workers produce drafts, analysis and suggestions at your direction. You review and decide what to keep. Generated text and images are yours to use, subject to the acceptable-use policies of the model providers involved. Automated output is never treated as approved work: every artifact passes a human approval gate before it counts.
In plain languageThe machine drafts, you decide. Nothing an engine produces is approved until a person approves it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use BookKraft Studio to produce unlawful content, infringe another person's rights, or attempt to disrupt or probe the service. We may suspend access that violates these Terms.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the engagement giving rise to the claim in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for content you have not retained your own copy of.
9. Changes to these Terms
We version these Terms and record every change. The version, effective date and last review date appear at the top of this page, and the change history appears at the foot of it. Material changes are notified to the email on your account. Questions go to legal@bookkraft.app.

- v2.0 · September 3, 2026
Retired the previous recurring-access and prepaid-balance section and all billing-cycle, checkout and cancellation wording, which described a commercial model BookKraft Studio does not operate. Added the project-engagement model, the ten-day milestone, Guided and Managed responsibility, separately disclosed third-party expenses, the ownership and rights boundary, the separate publication gate, and an explicit no-outcome-guarantee clause. Added version, effective date, last-reviewed date, change history and contact.
